Counting Down.

Only 2,5 hours left to go at work and then I get to go home and sleep. At least that is my plan now. By the time I get home I'll probably feel awake again, but right now I'm really really really tired.Which is totaly my own fault for staying up all night reading fanfics.2 of my collegues are threatening to put a lock on my computer at home so it will shut down at 1am.(they'd probably do it to if they could)Almost time for the eight o clock news.
The Procrastinator's Creed:
1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.
5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.
7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesmally small, is not exactly zero.
8. If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.
9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.
11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.
12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.
13. I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.
14. I will become a member of the ancient Order of Two-Headed Turtles (the Procrastinator's Society) if they ever get it organized.

Why having a laptop could be a bad idea.

I'd sleep more without having one.
Not just the laptop though, but also the regular computer.
The laptop just allows me to be online while sitting in bed.
But somehow being in bed typing is not the same thing as sleeping, which I'm going to have to do at some point tonight (this morning, whatever) before going to work tomorrow (today).

I didn't do much today. I'm pretty good at that. I did buy some food (dinner for today and tomorrow)
and discovered they now sell Coke Zero here. :) So I bought one bottle of that too.

I also watched some dvd's. Family album. (some of the outfits Joe Flanigan is wearing in that movie need to be seen to be believed)
and 1 disc of Season 8 of SG-1, but for some reason I just can't seem to get into that season. I'll finish it eventually though.

I still haven't written my con report (bad me), so that will be my task for tomorrow (today).
That and writing a chapter for either my cube or my SGA story.
Hopefully setting a deadline will work. (I guess we'll find out tomorrow)
This week so far:

Monday: traveling home from P2.
Had breakfast at the hotel (first time since I got there and it was quite good)
Nothing much to report about the flight, train or busjourney home.
Got home. The cats missed me :)
And didn't do much the rest of the evening.

Tuesday: didn't do much today either. Some shopping (food) and laundry
and much catching up on fanfic reading. (staying up to read way too late)
I checked what time I should be at work tomorrow (I probably should have checked earlier) and found my shifts starts at 8.15, which leaves me about 3 hours of sleep.

Wednesday: Got to work in time, and was asked by one of my collegues what I was doing there so early. Appearantly she switched her shift with me and I didn't have to be in untill 10.30.
Darn. There is no point in going back home and because there are some sick people and can't leave early either. There is a weather alarm for tomorrow. There will be snow.

Thursday: It is official, the world has ended. It's snowing. I'm quite sure it has snowed before in this country and much worse then this, but the people at the news have decided this is the most important thing ever since they've dedicated about half of eacht news bulletin to this. We've had at least 3 crosstalks in every bulletin (including one from London, where the reporter informs us it snows there too) Normaly there is one news bulletin every hour, but by 16.00 they decided the situation is so extreme (2 inches of snow and it's already melting in the south of the country. How will we cope?) that an extra bulletin is needed at 16.30 (they cancelled a rerun of a soap for this) and one at 17.30 (they cancelled Sesame Street for that one).

Friday: Not much happened today. I tried to make Malteser Cake and it failed spectacularly. :(
When I got home from work and checked my mail I got my first review of my cube story :) *bounces* I should probably start writing the next chapter soon, and the ones for my other stories.
The adventure that is the Thissle Hotel.

We checked in on Thursday.
No problems. It seemed like a good start to the weekend.
When we got to the room (311) we found out our toiletseat was broken. (THis was around 12.30)
When we left to go to Covent Garden for the screening of ADB we told the hotel about the problem.
They said they would fix it.
When we got back after the second screening and dinner at Pizza Hut at midnight, it still hadn't been fixed.
We went to the reception and told them about this and they said they would call us about it,
which they did about 15 minutes later.
They offered to move us to a different room, but we said no as we had to move to another the next day anyway.
I took the toilet seat off completely (as it was annoying the way it was) and noticed that it was only a minor thing wrong with it and fixed it. (it only took 5 minutes). Something the staff could have done had they bothered to send someone to fix it during the day.

Friday: Room move 1.
Our group had 3 rooms and we had to be moved to 3 other rooms for the convention.
At the time we had to check out only 1 room was done 201 and so we put all our luggage in there.
ONe of the rooms was a smoking room and we opened a window to let in some fresh air,
but for some strange reason there was another window behind it. So, no fresh air.

Saturday: Room move 2.
During lunch we went to our room to put some stuff away and the door didn't open and we got a red light. Went to get a new key and got no lights at all. Back to the reception. They send someone to look at it. He tried some other keycards and said that it was probably the batteries and he would get new ones. We waited and waited and waited. After 20 minutes I went to look for him and found a woman from the hotel. She tried some keycards on the door and said it didn't work. (duh) and she would get someone to fix it. We waited 5 more minutes. Nobody showed and we decided to go back to the con (we had photoshoots to do). When we got back to our room at 19.00 it still wasn't fixed. We got a new room (on the other end of the hotel) They send someone to open the room (with a regular key) and we then moved our stuff. Lots and lots of walking.

interesting notes:
There are duckies in the bathrooms.
They soap is lemon and so is the showergel and conditioner
In the 3 rooms I've been in the showers worked different every time.
