Catching up.

Wow, it’s been ages ago since I’ve last posted.
So here is a quick round up.

Movie night.
I watched old zombie movies with friends.
And by old I mean they were all black and white movies.
They were a lot of fun to watch.
Especially Plan 9 from outer space.
If you haven’t seen that movie, go watch it J

Conventions.
There have been plenty of those.
So here are some of the highlights.

At Utopia There was good news and bad news.
The bad news was that nex year will be the very last Utopia ever L
The good news was that they allready have a guest and it is: John DeLancie *does a happy dance*
They also told us the theme to for the party next year and it is: prom night.
I guess Ill have to find a dress to wear to that. (me in a dress. I never wear dresses)
And I got to ask my question at the liarspanel (its like a regular Q&A except that the actors have to lie the answer). I had the perfect question (at least I think so) and I decided to ask Neil Roberts (since from what I could tell from his Q&A’s at the con he has a great sence of humour and that would be a good thing to have concidering the question.) When it was my turn, I walked to the podium, got down on one knee, opened a box and said: Neil, will you marry me? He was kind of surprised by the question, because his first answer was no. *g*
Then he remembered that he was supposed to be lying and changed his answer to yes.
(I wonder if my proposal will end up on the con dvd)

The first day of Dutch Star Con I was the PA of Kavan Smith J
If you haven’t met him and you have a chance to meet him go do it.
And of course if you have met him, you’ll know you want to meet him again.
I know I do J
Things weren’t very busy (there were 3 other conventions that weekend) and so I had time to talk to Kavan. (he’s a really, really great guy). I mentioned that I’d be going to AT2 the week after and he gave me a message to pass to Amanda Tapping. He said she would laugh and if she didn’t he would pay me $10.

At AT2 I got to meet Amanda Tapping, which was great J
During one of the Q&A’s I asked her if she was surprised that David Hewlett beat her at speedreading (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out youtube). She said she wasn’t. I had printed out the text for her to see if she could read it faster then she had then.
She read it again and beat her own time, but was still nowhere as fast as David was (I don’t think anybody can read it that fast) The Saturday party was great. Lot’s of condancing. And on Sunday we got in to the world Guinness book of records with the record of the biggest group eating smarties with chopsticks. There was a photoshoot (Saturday) and at the autographsession I passed on Kavan’s message to Amanda and he was right. She did laugh.
There was also an auction to raise money for Hearing Dogs. My friend who was with me should have tied me down to the chair and duct taped me to prevent me from bidding, But she didn’t and I ended up winning the front and back cover of the script Wormhole X-treme with about 90 autographs on it J. I’ll just have to think about what I paid per autograph and not the total number. And it was for charity, after all, so that is a good thing, isn’t it?

No more conventions now untill P2.
I really hope there is no auction there though.
